Tidal energy research projects moving ahead
The Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia (OERA) is launching a new competitive research Call focused on tidal energy-related technology innovation. A $1.25 million fund is available to support new projects that offer innovative and practical technology solutions and novel approaches to resolve fundamental knowledge gaps impacting the tidal sector.
There are three broad areas of research interest, specifically: ‘enhancements in environmental effects monitoring (EEM) technologies and approaches; innovative approaches and improvements to marine operations; and innovative cost reduction technologies. The scope for each theme area is purposefully broad, providing opportunity for a variety of expertise from different organizations, disciplines and specializations to come together to collaborate on innovative research.
