SMRU Consulting Canada is based in Vancouver and we also have offices in UK (HQ), USA and Hong Kong. We specialize in the commercial delivery of cutting edge marine mammal science including survey design and implementation, population assessments, and risk frameworks. 

SMRU Consulting was set up in 2006 as the commercial arm of the academic Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU) at the University of St Andrews. Although separate entities, we work closely together, and jointly we bridge the gap between the academic and commercial worlds.

Presently undertaking marine mammal related MRE monitoring projects for FORCE, MEYGEN, and CSTV using both passive acoustics (C-PODs, hydrophone arrays) and active sonar. Previously undertook marine mammal environmental baseline and impact MRE studies for MCT, TEL, Minesto, and Snohomish PUD.
