The Port of Sydney Development Corporation has a mandate to manage and develop the Sydney harbour and area. The Port is primarily a Cruise Port hosting on average 100 cruise calls per year. The harbour at large, including the proposed container terminal, is interested in hydrogen power for the purposes of greening our facilities.

Our mission is to support, promote and develop the harbour and related infrastructure with a view of growing the economy of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. In its advocacy role, the Port of Sydney Development Corporation will strive to create the ‘conditions for success’ with the aim of optimizing the Port’s economic development prospects.

Our vision is to be a leading Atlantic Gateway multimodal hub, operating as a vibrant partner in the global supply chain and committed to the economic development and growth of the Port.
