Port of Stephenville
The PORT OF STEPHENVILLE (formerly Port Harmon) is located in
Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.Having been Constructed by
the US Corps of Engineers in the early 1950s. The Port has served as a ice free marine base for navel, commercial
and government operations for national and international users. Positioned
in Western Newfoundland, the port is ideally located for shipping in North
America, Atlantic Canada, Europe and the Arctic. The port operates under
Mersec Level 1 security level and is capable of servicing international and
national ships, fishing, aggregate, container, special freight . The Port of
Stephenville can accommodate freight handling, storage and trans-shipments
having access to a Custom Bonded Warehouse which has 3 30 ton
cranes facility on the dock. The Port of Stephenville is directly connected to
the Trans Canada Highway. The Town of Stephenville is the service centre for a
population of over 25,000.The Port of Stephenville is the only Privately
owned Port in Newfoundland that is adjacent to a International
Airport (Stephenville International Airport).
