Lanigan Innovations Inc. (DBA Maritime Ocean Power)

Maritime Ocean Power (Lanigan Innovations Inc.) is a New Brunswick company developing WavePulse, a nearshore wave energy converter designed for utilities operating remote diesel-dependent coastal communities. Clamshell floats ride fixed piles and drive deck-level hydraulic cylinders, with all power conversion in a sealed, swappable powerhouse above the waterline. The design uses proven off-the-shelf industrial components, with no submerged electronics, for serviceability in remote locations. A provisional patent is filed. An in-water prototype has demonstrated the float and pile apparatus driving the hydraulic cylinder, and electricity generation has been demonstrated on the bench. The company is based in Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick, and is a member of Canada’s Ocean Supercluster.
